Open Silicon Valley is a 501 (c) 6 non profit organization.  Contributions to section 501 (c )6 organizations are not deductible as a charity contribution. They are  deductible as a trade or business expense. e.g for sponsorship, membership fees, marketing etc. Talk with a tax professional on how this can be done.
